In 1999 in Fort Collins, Colorado, Clint Lucas started Detailed Landscape. A one-man operation that grew into one of the area’s most trusted landscaping companies.

It was just him and a truck, a used trailer and a couple of lawnmowers given to him by his dad. It was a lawn mowing service at first – or at least it felt that way.
But lawn care customers started asking for Clint’s help with small projects, like installing rock and mulch, building flower beds and retaining walls, planting trees and shrubs and other modifications to their landscaping. Those small projects got bigger and bigger, and word of mouth recommendations pushed Clint and Detailed Landscape to evolve.
After the first year, Clint brought on a couple employees to help; the next year and the next he hired a couple more. As business continued to grow, Clint made the deliberate decision to enter the residential market. He chose this path because, quite simply, he likes people. Clint has organized his business so he can continue to work in the field with his team and work closely with his clients to create their perfect outdoor space.
At its heart, Detailed Landscape is a family business. Clint’s dad, who’s been working in the landscaping industry since 1972, works with him now and has been key to Detailed Landscape’s success. Clint’s wife, Stacey, runs the office. Many staff members have been on the team for 14+ years, and Detailed Landscape’s first hire is still here, over 25 years later.
